FAQs
Is it better to brush my hair wet or dry?
Hair is more fragile when wet, but the looser texture created by water together with the slip provided by conditioner make it less prone to breakage. So the curlier your hair is, the better it is to brush it wet. If you still want to do it dry, make sure you're using an oil or leave-in to reduce friction!
Should I brush my hair in between washes?
No! Curl families are created on washday with the use of water and styling products - the moment you run a brush through them each strand will separate and become frizz instead. You can gently detangle individual sections with your hands if they have gotten too matted, but do not brush your whole hair through.
Why is this better than a wide tooth comb?
Wide tooth combs are very rigid. While they have wide and long bristles that can go through thicker hair, they lack the flexibility to gently approach knots. Because of their stiffness, they're much more likely to rip them than to release them. On the other hand, the patented FLEXGUARD technology of the MANTA® enables each bristle to have complete 360 degree motion, so they never reach the tension point where hair breaks.
