    WHAT NO ONE TELLS YOU

Not all brushes are made equal. Because of its dense bristles, this brush should only be used on wet, detangled hair, after you have a applied a styling product with good slip.

Using light, steady pressure supports healthy styling and helps minimise mechanical stress on the hair. As with any hair tool, aggressive, strong, or repeated force may contribute to hair damage, so make sure you are treating your curls with care!

    HOW TO USE
    1. Start on soaking wet hair. If it dries during the process, re-wet it with a little spray bottle.
    2. Detangle your hair first with a detangling brush. Because the bristles on this brush are dense, pre-detangling helps reduce breakage and creates a smoother styling experience.
    3. Apply your styling product of choice, making sure it's one that provides a lot of slip to the hair (nothing sticky or with grit).
    4. Divide your hair into sections.
    5. Tilt the brush at the roots so the hair falls into the grooves, separating as you brush.
    6. Continue brushing through all sections, and use the front edge if you have shorter pieces or bangs.
    7. Scrunch your curls to help them spring up, then diffuse or air dry. After the hair is fully dry, scrunch again to break the cast and reveal soft, ultra-defined curls.
    What it's made of

Handle and body are crafted with polylactic acid (PLA), a material chosen with consideration for its impact compared to traditional options.

The bristles are made of plastic, to imitate the function of boar bristles while remaining vegan.

    FAQs

Is this the original or is it a dupe?

This is the original, patented Bounce Curl EdgeLift Brush - we're official stockists!

Can I use this brush to detangle my hair?

No. The Bounce Curl EdgeLift Brush is made to define curls. Its bristles have been designed to create tension, smooth cuticles down and reduce frizz. To avoid breakage, make sure you're always using it on fully detangled hair.

Should I use this on wet or dry hair?

This brush has been designed for wet styling. You should only use it on wet hair, after you applied a styling product with sufficient slip on it, like our Soft Leave-in Cream or All Weather Styling Gel.

    Why should I brush style?

You don't have to brush style to get good results with your curls, but it can be a useful technique if you'd like:

    • more uniform results
    • products spread more evenly
    • more definition and less frizz
    • more reliable washdays
How is this different to using my hands?

Both methods are fine, but offer different results. Styling with your hands is faster and gives a more effortless look, while using a brush provides more definition, makes your curls more uniform and can make your washdays more reliable.

Should I choose the Volume or Define EdgeLift Brush?

Both brushes are great at reducing frizz, but they each have their own specialty.

    Volume EdgeLift Brush:

    • Better for volume
    • Great for fine hair, makes the hair look fuller
    • Lifts and defines
    • Creates smaller clumps
    • Perfect for tighter curl pattern

    Define EdgeLift Brush

    • Better for super definition
    • Great for thicker, denser hair to clump the curls more easily
    • Less volume, but ringlets are insane!
    • Elongates and defines
    • Perfect for looser curls and waves
